Te mātauranga Māori mō ngā kararehe | Māori knowledge of animals
Science Learning Hub have created bilingual and te reo Māori resources with Professor Georgina Tuari Stewart & Dr Sally Birdsall, to showcase mātauranga Māori related to our indigenous animals of Aotearoa.
Click on the link provided to visit the SLH website, with an article that gives an overview of these new resources, including online information about kūri, kiore, nga manu (birds), nga ika (fish), ngārara (reptiles) and te aitanga pepeke (insects). There are also illustrated interactives and PDF resources you can download.
Te reo Māori versions of the materials are available as PDFs. These are designed to support teaching and learning of pūtaiao in Māori medium classrooms.
