WAI Wānaka are an organisation made up of passionate individuals with a shared vision of healthy ecosystems and community wellbeing for future generations.
Our education and outreach programmes are about building a passionate community of water advocates with the skills and knowledge to be the current and future voices for healthy water.
We aim to educate and raise awareness by reaching deep into what drives our values and attitudes towards water, broadening participation and empowering landowners, businesses, residents, visitors and communities to care for their freshwater environment.
We offer tailored support for local schools to enhance their place-based learning. Biodiversity exploration from early childhood through to year three and then more structured rural and urban Embracing Te Taiao programmes. These programmes showcase and explore positive community collaboration for the health of the natural world across the whole of catchment.
We encourage kaiako to reach out and connect to discuss upcoming opportunities.
