EfS - Education for
Sustainability
The National Education for
Sustainability team has both a national and regional
focus.
Currently there are 14 Fulltime equivalent adviser
positions spread between all the School Support
Services throughout New Zealand.
The education for sustainability national
coordination team's (NEFS) core task is to provide
in-service teacher professional development that
affects change and contributes to better learning
opportunities for students. The advisory role is to
respond to diverse local needs and learning
opportunities by developing local and national
partnerships to implement education for
sustainability, which incorporates environmental
education and education for sustainable development
in New Zealand schools.

community recyclers, and service providers involved in waste minimisation
activities.

Education, the Guidelines for Environmental Education in New Zealand Schools are
designed to help teachers incorporate environmental education into the curriculum. Click

Funded by the Ministry of Education,
Te Kete Ipurangi is an online learning centre for schools. The site's environmental
education kete includes an interactive learning resource and primary teaching units.

Australian Association for
Environmental Education
The Australian Association for
Environmental Education (AAEE) is the premier, national, professional
association for those who identify themselves as working in the fields of
environment or sustainability education. AAEE represents and advocates for
the interests of environmental education and educators. AAEE provides an
important network of educators, and it supports its members with up-to-date
research and policy information, access to resources, and regular workshops
and conferences.
North American Association for Environmental
Education
NAAEE is the professional
association for environmental education. NAAEE members promote professional
excellence in non-formal organizations, K-12 classrooms, universities (both
instructors and students), government agencies, and corporate settings
throughout North America and in over 55 other countries. Since 1971, the
Association has created opportunities for its members to improve their
skills in creating and delivering programs and services that teach people
how to think, not what to think.
National Marine Educators Association
The National Marine Educators
Association (NMEA) brings together those interested in the study and
enjoyment of both fresh and salt water and provides a focus for marine and
aquatic studies all over the world.
National Association for Environmental Education
National
Association for Environmental Education is the network of environmental
teachers and lecturers, and all those responsible for the delivery of
environmental education and sustainable development within United Kingdom
schools. The Association works with a range of partner groups and national

Energy-efficiency schools: new online guide
This
webguide for school trustees, principals, teachers,
students, caretakers and energy managers has been developed
by NERI in partnership with The Enviroschools Foundation,
the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority and funded
by the Ministry of Education.
The guide explores the impressive energy-efficiency efforts
of two large secondary schools and two small primary
schools, from Auckland to Southland.
